We Do More Than You Think...
There are over 500 law enforcement agencies in the state of California; with so many options, all of the options and agencies start to blur, making it difficult to make an informed decision. We at the Glendale Police family believe we're different than others. Why work for us? Consider the following advantages we provide:

State-of-the-Art Facility: Completed in 2004, we now occupy a $38 million, 160,000 square foot police headquarters building. This facility is equipped with the latest in security, ergonomic office facilities, and modern amenities. We also have an in-house jail facility and fitness center.

State-of-the-Art Equipment: The Glendale Police Department is among the best equipped agencies in the nation. We provide our personnel with the tools necessary to do their jobs in an efficient and effective manner, including modern patrol vehicles, ergonomic dispatch panels, armored response and SWAT vehicles, air support, and WMD response equipment.

State-of-the-Art Technology: At the Glendale Police Department we employ the latest in technology to assist us with our mission. Our 911 Communications Operators, Patrol Officers, Detectives, SWAT officers, Air Support Team, Crime Scene Investigators and many others all use this technology as part of their role in the agency.

State-of-the-Art Training: In addition to their initial academy training our personnel receive regular updated training related to their field of work. Examples of specialized training include K9 training, FATS Shooter Simulator, EVOC Driving School, and SWAT Training.
Department Size: With a total staff of nearly 400 employees, including 250 sworn officers, the Glendale Police Department is a medium-sized department. It's large enough to have a full-service department, and small enough to work closely with the community it serves.

Predictive Policing: Glendale Police Department uses advanced policing algorithms to identify areas where crime is likely to surface. These techniques equip GPD officers with the information they need to stop crime before it occurs.
