What is the most rewarding part about being a Police Officer?

By joining the Glendale Police Department, I became more than an police officer. I became part of a leading organization that serves, uplifts, and protects our community.

The most rewarding part about being a police officer is that I am afforded the opportunity to positively impact my citizen’s quality of life. As a Glendale police officer, I am part of a team that enables citizens to live in a community where criminal activity is not tolerated, victims are supported, and positive community relationships are established.

Why did you decide to become a Police Officer?

I became a police officer because I wanted more than a job; I wanted an exciting and rewarding long-term career. In addition to offering a competitive salary, great benefits, and educational advancement opportunities, the Glendale Police Department provides a variety of diverse work assignments that develop unique skill sets.

For example, I have the option to drive a patrol car, work inside an investigative unit or wear plain clothes in a specialized undercover unit. If I am feeling really adventurous, I could even attend flight school to operate a helicopter or enroll in motor school to ride a motorcycle full-time.

Can you briefly talk about your experience in law enforcement?

During my tenure as a Glendale Police Officer, I worked three years on patrol and I’ve spent the last year investigating retail crimes within the Downtown Police Unit. I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of cases involving burglary, financial crimes, and sexual assaults. All of my experiences have positively shaped my professional outlook as a police officer.
